These two photographs possibly show John William Boone, also known as "Blind Boone." The photographs were takin in Neodesha, Kansas, one taken by Gussie Winter. The photographs were donated in 1965 by the Wilson County Historical Society. In 2015, a researcher noted the photographs were not of Blind Boone but of one of many imposters. A second researcher noted in 2023, that the individual in the photographs was possibly famous cake walker William Henry Joseph Cutter Brown, (1835 – February 28, 1905), known as Joseph "Doc" Brown He was know in the Kansas City area as a champion cakewalker. Doc is said to have introduced the cake walk in the State of Missouri.
